4D Ultrasound: When does it make sense and cost the price?

4D Ultrasound

Ultrasound belongs to a classic examination during pregnancy, and for expectant mothers, it is also a common procedure. These are precious moments in which they can see their unborn baby. Previously, there was only 2D and 3D ultrasound. In recent years, however, the 4D ultrasound is being used more. Thanks to this, parents can bring a video with their baby where they can even see their form. Is the 4D ultrasound worth it?

What is the difference between different types of ultrasound?

In spite of the advanced technology, the traditional 2D ultrasound is still critical and the most prominent for doctors. It can reveal possible defects in the fetus, assess whether you have enough amniotic fluid and whether the baby is in the right position. Of course, 3D and 4D ultrasound is an excellent asset as physicians can see different baby details, track their movement, heart activity, and see any surface changes such as lip cleft.

With 3D ultrasound, several classic two-dimensional images are reconstructed into one 3D image. You have a unique opportunity to see almost a real picture of your child. But his vision remains static, and you do not see any actual movement. 4D ultrasound can bring an excellent experience to expectant mothers and dads. You can see the smile on your baby, or how he waves at you, etc. It often makes the relationship with a child more intense. Especially for fathers, these moments can be remembered. The 4D view is created by adding time to the 3D view. 3D images are captured quickly, and real-time video is produced. The pictures are no longer static but they move, and you see baby movement. On the contrary, you do not tell the size and size of babies, but that is not important at the moment.

How is 4D ultrasound taking place?

The examination takes longer than conventional 2D ultrasound, about 15 to 25 minutes. The doctor performs either a vaginal or abdominal ultrasound probe. Select her physician. For the examination to succeed, you must have a drained bladder, so go to the toilet before and do not wipe with any body lotion or belly cream on that day. You can eat food easily.

Despite all measures, however, 4D ultrasound may not succeed. The baby itself decides everything. Once it is agreed that it will not show up and put in an inappropriate position, it presses against the wall of the uterus or placenta; you will not enjoy a beautiful picture. In this case, physicians usually terminate the examination and offer a substitute term.

When is the best time for the 4D ultrasound?

To show the entire body of a baby, it is the ideal time for examination at an earlier stage of pregnancy, about the 12th to 16th week. But this time is not as detailed as in the coming weeks. From the 24th week of pregnancy, you can beautifully observe individual parts of baby, face, face, mimic. The examination can be performed up to 36 weeks, but most workplaces recommend weeks 24 and 29 when there is enough amniotic fluid in the uterus for a good impression. A health insurance company does not cover this examination; it is such a bonus. Therefore, count on having to pay it.

Beautiful monument

For parents, but often for relatives, 4D ultrasound is indeed a miracle. They can see the baby as realistically as possible. He smiles, smiles, sucks his thumbs, waves him, etc. Also, he gets a photo and video memo from his doctor. They will be able to let them when they want to. It is clear that 3D and 4D ultrasound cannot be a substitute for the 2D ultrasound. But it's a great bonus that's worth it.
