Best Fibromyalgia Mattress
Sleep disorder is a general problem for fibromyalgia patients. We are incapable of attaining the deep sleep cycle that enables healing to take place. The slightest noise and we awaken, unable to get back to sleep. That's why, the fibromyalgia sufferer needs a particular mattress, but we don't know what is the best fibromyalgia mattress?.
Fibromyalgia sufferers are also woken up by pain. Chronic pain can leave us even more fatigued than usual, so we need to find ways to ease our discomfort and to promote sleep.
I have had fibromyalgia for over 25 years, and in that time I have tried many different mattresses to get some pain relief.
A few years ago my friend recommended a memory foam mattress topper for me. I was somewhat dubious as I already had a good quality Posturepedic mattress, but she assured me that it would be ideal for my night time pain. She had used one for years and said it helped with her arthritis pain.
I bought a four-inch memory foam mattress topper. I couldn't believe the weight of it they are incredibly dense!’
Memory foam is the best fibromyalgia mattress ever!
I was concerned the memory foam would make me too hot and I would over-heat. Fibromyalgia makes us more sensitive to heat and cold. Both extremes can be uncomfortable. But, I have to say it didn’t heat me up! In fact, it was incredibly soothing to my joints.
Along with fibromyalgia I also have osteoarthritis of the spine and hips. I used to get into bed and dread the pain of my back having to ‘flatten’ out to the shape of the mattress. Being in a flare and confined to bed was sheer agony! With a memory foam mattress, I no longer get that pain. My back is eased and supported by the memory foam.
The memory foam mattress topper allowed me to sleep on my back, side or tums without any pressure point pain.
The top few layers of the mattress contour to your body shape and the lower layers remain firm for support. I slept just like a baby for the first time in years!
One problem I found with the memory foam mattress topper was that it moved about a bit. On making the bed, you have to push it back into place. One way of dealing with this is to get some extra thick sheets and include the topper in with your first mattress. This holds it in place better.
After a year or so I decided to get a full memory foam Visco mattress set. It is ultra deep and cumbersome!
It is the best investment I have ever made to my healthcare. I love my bed; it is the best fibromyalgia mattress you can get.
My old bed is now in my guest room, and I purchased a thick mattress cover that incorporates the memory foam mattress topper. Now I have no issues with it sliding about! My guests all say they have a fantastic sleep on that bed as it is incredibly comfortable.
If you are experiencing chronic pain for whatever reason, then I can personally recommend a memory foam Visco mattress.
It indeed is the best fibromyalgia mattress you can get!
