There may be another factor that might have led you to miss your period such as an iron deficiency. There is a difference in a period and implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding is explained below.

Implantation bleeding

Implantation bleeding occurs when the fertilized egg or the embryo attaches itself to the uterine wall. This burrowing of the embryo can cause some bleeding and may be accompanied by some cramping. This bleeding is not as heavy as you would have during a reasonable period. Instead, this bleeding would be quite scanty. The color of the blood would also not be like your regular period. Expect implantation bleeding to be slightly pink. It is one of the first signs of pregnancy, as it should occur five to ten days after you conceive. This symptom may not happen to all women.

Tender Breasts

This symptom also occurs very early in pregnancy. It should start around the second week of your pregnancy. You will see some changes in your breasts regarding size and sensitivity. Your breast would become swollen and would be very tender to touch. The reason for your tender and swollen breast is due to the high level of estrogen in your body due to pregnancy.

Cramping

Cramping is a symptom that accompanies implantation bleeding. This symptom is also prevalent and occurs between 6 to 12 days of conception. The feeling of the cramps is similar to that which you would experience during your PMS or Pre Menstrual Syndrome. Some women even tend to experience cramping which is entirely different from their menstrual cramps. They may experience a stabbing pain or pressure. Do checkup with your doctor if you feel anything is abnormal.

Fatigue

A lot of women often experiences fatigue during the early stages of pregnancy. This symptom is unusually high during the first trimester. It gradually goes away but tends to return during the last trimester. However, it's not unusual for women to feel tired all through their entire term of pregnancy. The reason for fatigue cannot be cornered down to one particular factor; however, researchers say that the blame can be partly put on the hormone progesterone. To cope up with this feeling of constant fatigue, you must go to bed early and get a full nights' sleep. Also, avoid fluid consumption during the evening to prevent frequent urination.

Frequent urination

This symptom is prevalent among a large number of women. If you are pregnant, you will find yourself taking a lot of trips to the bathroom. The pregnancy hormone known as hCG can be blamed for this symptom. This hormone leads to an increase in the amount of blood flowing into your pelvic area and also your kidneys. It leads you to pass urine excessively.
